Description
If God is the Creator of our children, and if He has charged parents to train them up according to His way, then surely He has given directions for accomplishing this monumental task. Indeed He has, and those instructions are in His Word, the Bible.

Drawing from the wisdom of Scripture, from experiences as a father, and from work with hundreds of children as an educator and recreation director, author Don Gilchrist addresses these issues and much more in helping parents fulfill God's high call to Biblical Parenting.

Can You Answer From Scripture?
... what God holds parents accountable for?
... the only two methods of disciplining children taught in the Bible?
... the best quality to develop in children?
... the only two Bible commands given specifically to children?
... what kind of people your children are becoming like?
... how to identify your children's most influential teachers?
... who has the greatest responsibility for the spiritual education of your children?
... the most important thing a father can do for his family?
... the most important thing a godly mother can do for her family?
... how to lead your children to Jesus?

Do You Know?
... how to get your children to obey without your counting to ten?
... how to handle a disobedient child in the grocery store?
... how to keep brothers and sisters from quarreling?
... the difference between a trained child and a controlled child?
... why a child can grow up active in the church and yet not follow the Lord?
... the first commands a child should learn to obey, and why?
... how to make your teaching acceptable to your children?
... "friends" who enter many homes and subtly undermine parental teaching?
... two methods that convince any child he or she is loved, appreciated, and important?

Biblical Parenting
This is the most complete bible study I have ever done on child rearing. He has no problem stating what he believes firmly and backing it with scripture. Finally! I have always been intimidated by people who think I shelter my children to much. Biblical Parenting has put scripture to my convictions and convictions in things I never even thought about in the past. Thanks to Don and his wife for taking the time to search Gods word on this important matter!
