Mainstream culture today assumes it is normal to pass off the raising of our children to school teachers, coaches, youth pastors, and after-school programs.
In Family Driven Faith, Voddie Baucham, a father of 4 children himself, provides a great read for dads who want to instill their values and Biblical faith into their children and see it "stick" when they become adults. The message in this book will convict you, stir your heart, and encourage you to do whatever it takes to proactively lead your family.
"We read this book in our men's group. I wish I had this book when I was raising kids. The author does a great job of encouraging parents to be intentional in training their children in righteousness in a Godly home. He focuses on resisting the culture and doing what right for the children from a biblical perspective."
- Reader in Iowa City, Iowa
"Every Christian parent ought to read Family Driven Faith. I've never encountered a book on family life that compressed so much biblical teaching, provocative thinking, sound theology, and practical help in one volume."
- Don Whitney, Professor, Louisville KY

| Voddie Baucham discusses the response to Family Driven Faith
| On The Inside Cover More teens are turning away from the faith than ever before: it is estimated that as many as 88% of teens who profess Christianity walk away from tehir faith by the end of their freshman year of college. Something must be done.
Family Driven Faith equips Christian parents with the tools they need to raise children biblically in a post-Christian, anti-family society. Voddie Baucham, who with his wife has overcome a multi-generational legacy of broken and dysfunctional homes, shows that God has not left us alone in raising godly children. He has given us timeless precepts and principles for multi-generational faithfulness, especially in Deuteronomy 6. God's simple command to Moses to teach the word diligently to the children of Israel serves as the foundation of Family Driven Faith.
This bold new book is an urgent call to parents -- and the church -- to return to biblical discipleshp in and through the home.

Customer Reviewsfamily-driven faith this book has changed the way i look at parenting, discipleship, family worship, just about everything! i have a great respect for voddie and have listened to many of his teaching series. he is an excellent communicator. this book is by far the BEST parenting book i have ever read. Good Book This is a book that you will want to pass around. I gave it to my daughter and her husband and they in turned have someone else that is interested in reading it after them. Some chapters are rather boring to keep reading but if you stick with it there are great truths to be found. If applied in your family, they WILL make a positive difference in your lives. We as a family have been doing most of what is suggested in the books since we have had children, my oldest being 25 years old. All 4 children are serving God and being a blessing for those around them. This book contains Great Truths that are Needed in the Church Today! Respond to the critics... Jeremiah 6:10 To whom can I speak and give warning? Who will listen to me? Their ears are closed so they cannot hear. The word of the LORD is offensive to them; they find no pleasure in it.
First things first, if you find this book "offensive" ask yourself "why" I respectfully disagree with the critics, specifically the one comparing this to a "cult". That is a strong and hateful statement and it is the FURTHEST from the truth. I recommend to read the book along with the scriptures that Dr. Baucham's uses to back it up and let the Holy Spirit convict you (or not).
I actually met Dr. Baucham's son Trey - what a pleasure to meet this young man. The fruit is there!! Unless you've met this man and seen the fruit that he is producing, I strongly suggest you reserve your harsh judgement of him. Pluck the plank out of your on eye first.
Take the time to read what Dr. Baucham has to say and to spiritually discern the message that is being given. Let God speak to you in how this message is applicable to your family and/or what principles you need to apply. It won't be the same for everyone. |
